Jackson Street Youth Shelter, Inc.

Bridging the gap between the community and its troubled and homeless youth

On April 8th, 2012 Womyncentric was so very pleased to hold a fundraiser for Benton and Linn counties’ Jackson Street Youth Shelter, Inc.  at the Hanson Country Inn in Corvallis, and had the privilege of meeting their Executive Director, Ann Craig, as well as their Community Liaison, Hannah Miller.  She and another Jackson Street staff gave a great presentation at the fundraiser, which covered the history of the shelter, their mission as a nonprofit, and some of the future projects that will help bridge the gap between our community and its troubled and homeless youth.   On May 12th, Jackson Street will be hosting a bike rally to raise money for its programs, improvements to the house in Corvallis, and for the new house in Albany.  The entry fee is $20, check in starts at 8:00 AM on Saturday at Team Oregon, Hwy 99 south, kickstands up by 9:00 AM, and then the route will snake along the back roads of Corvallis, Albany, Monmouth, and Junction City.  The route is 120 miles total and ends at Adair County Park in Adair Village.  Following the ride there will be music provided by Downside Up from Eugene Oregon, food and prizes until 2 PM.  If you are interested in signing up for the rally please go to the link below!
