I’ve long considered myself oriented to the 3-D Arts, working in sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, enamel, and most often layered mixed media. I studied Art for three years at Goshen College and delved deeply into these realms. Now, a few years later, and once again living in the Willamette Valley where I was raised, I find myself struck by the power of drawing the human form. As an athlete and dancer, I find myself enthralled with the beauty of all bodies. I am in the process of exploring how to express these forms through standard drawing mediums.
From April 1st to April 15th I have a selection of drawings, sculptures, and other works on display in downtown Corvallis. Ultimately I want to combine figure drawing with more layered, mixed media ways of working. With this show I aim to have dialogue around the pieces, and flesh out future ideas.Throughout April I will be hosting open art and music sessions in my studio, to provide a space for sharing creative energy and resources.
